Rudy Gurley was born on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia to a Barbadian father, and St. Lucian mother.

Although he spent several years in England, where he pursued a career in accountancy, he has lived most of his life in the Caribbean.

A Fellow Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA), Rudy also holds an MBA from Henley Management College (UK), and membership of the [British] Institute of Directors and the Institute of Management.

Rudy has had a long and distinguished career with British telecoms giant Cable & Wireless (C&W), where he rose to the level of Chief Executive of two subsidiaries, and Chairman of the Board of Director of another. He has also served in a non-executive capacity on a number of company and statutory boards.

An internationally acclaimed author, Rudy has published four books: two non-fiction novels, and two text books for the financial services industry.

His first autobiographical novel, A Caribbean Tale, won critical acclaim, and was bundled with Barack Obama’s The Audacity of Hope, in a promotional package by Amazon.com.

The sequel, Sent From Overseas, dramatizes the circumstances surrounding his departure from C&W. This riveting non-fiction novel is widely credited with causing Cable & Wireless Caribbean to change its name and strategic direction, and distance itself from its colonial past.

Rudy is CEO and founder of ForexCalling.com, a website providing training and education on how to successfully trade the foreign exchange market, the world’s largest financial market. His two textbooks, Forex Basics, and The Forex Strategy Workbook, are sold via ForexCalling.com, which boasts clients from every continent.

Rudy is also CEO and founder of aCaribbeanTale.com, which publishes, promotes, and distributes his work globally, and hopes to do the same for aspiring Caribbean writers whose stories are inspirational, uplifting, and of the highest standard.

A dynamic motivational speaker, Rudy Gurley has been invited to tour the U.S. and Canada, sharing his experiences with college and university students.

He lives on St. Lucia with Susanna, his wife of thirteen years.
