You will, no doubt, read all about Susanna, Rudy’s wife, in A Caribbean Tale.
Susanna is what we in the Caribbean call a ‘Douglar’ – a mix of Indian and Negro. Her father, prominent businessman Michael Ramjeawan, was descended from the Indian indentured labourers who migrated to the Caribbean after the slaves were emancipated. Her mother is a light-skinned Negro with a trace of French blood.
Susanna was born and bred in St.Lucia. She attended the Castries Methodist School and later the St. Lucia SDA Academy, where she met Rudy. In 1985 she graduated as valedictorian of her class, as did her future husband, two years before. She spent the ensuing sixteen years working in a number of roles in her family’s business. She now manages Tenderoni, the business she established with Rudy the year before they tied the knot.
Susanna is a member of the Association of Business Executives (ABE), and has an advance diploma in Business Administration.
A devout Christian (Pentecostal), she was once the lead singer of her church’s gospel group, and has recently again taken to singing. Her favourite gospel artists include: Sandi Patti, Cece Winans, and Yolanda Adams.
Susanna has a keen interest in working with the youth in her church, in song, drama, and dance.
